Forbes Magazine Ranks Fort Bend as Top Growth Community

Fort Bend County, a suburb of Houston, Texas was ranked #1 by Forbes Magazine as the county that has experienced the most income and job growth over the past few years listing the average median household income up 10% from 2007 to 2008 at $84,782. 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

A refundable first-time homebuyer tax credit of up to $8,000 is the centerpiece of housing incentives found in the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The new credit is designed to boost sales in the nation’s sagging housing market by offering a strong incentive to first-time homebuyers. Houston Home Sales Show Continued Strengthening in June

HOUSTON — (July 21, 2009) — Sales of single-family homes for the greater Houston area continued to improve in June, with the highest volume recorded since August 2008 and the highest median price in history. This comes despite a year-over-year decline in overall property sales of 15.0 percent and 13.5 percent for single-family homes, according to new monthly data compiled by the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR).
